Dr. Dewberry is a Board-certified neurologist in private practice since 1993. Prior to entering medicine, he obtained a PhD in physiological psychology at Ohio State University with a primary interest in memory and recovery of function after damage to the nervous system.
Dr. Dewberry obtained his medical degree at the University of Maryland Medical Center in 1987 and neurology residency was at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis from 1988 to 1991. This was followed by a fellowship in neuromuscular disease and electromyography at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville from 1991 to 1993. In 1993 he joined a hospital-based private practice at University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus where he remained until January 2020. Dr. Dewberry was the stroke program director there for 5 years. He is a certified medical acupuncturist but limits his acupuncture to auricular (ear) acupuncture for treatment of certain pain conditions. He performs nerve conduction studies and EMG examinations and does Botox injections for migraine headaches.
